Jeremy and Christine Christensen opened CrossFit Vidor in Vidor, Texas, on July 31, 2017. Twenty-nine days later, Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the Gulf Coast, and the storm destroyed the couple’s affiliate, home and vehicles.
With their first baby due in December, the Christensens are rebuilding their lives and working to revive the sense of community CrossFit Vidor provided in a town that needs inspiration now more than ever.
“People need to get back to normalcy around here,” Jeremy says. “We’re excited to start back soon.”
The CrossFit affiliate community has held numerous fundraisers in support of the Christensens.
“It’s just been incredible,” Christine says, “the CrossFit community stepping up, not knowing who we are, anything about us.”
